The invention relates to a casting device made of refractory material forthe transfer of a liquid metal, comprising a refractory body of an overallconical or cylindrical shape, intended to pass in a tight manner through awall of the upper metallurgical vessel and delimiting a casting channel. Thecasting device according to the invention comprises a metal casingsurrounding at least partially the refractory body and is characterised inthat said metal casing maintains the refractory body in compression. Thischaracteristic gives the casting device an excellent resistance to theoccurrence of cracks responsible for various problems such as inert gaslosses.<IMAGE> |
