PURPOSE: To effectively carry out desulfurization, CaO and Mg are blown to hot metal separately according to the conditions of hot metal. CONSTITUTION: In the desulfurization method of hot metal, continuous blowing of high purity CaO (99%) is carried out in the blow rate of 51 to 60kg/min, wherein high purity Mg powder (95%) having a particle size distribution of 0.2-1.0mm is continuously blown into the hot metal in the blow rate of 11 to 15kg/min. The continuous blowing of Mg powder preferably begins after one-minute at the CaO blowing time and it is finished in 5 minutes. Also, the weight blow ration of Ma and CaO is 10-15wt.%:90-85wt.%.
