The invention concerns a device wherein the cylinder (10) comprises a cylinder body (17) wherein a piston (20) slides, and comprising an intermediate element (91) housed in the cylinder body rear part (26), for axial positioning of at least an inner sealing joint (94) co-operating with the side wall (31) of the piston (20, 36), and which is axially maintained in the rear part (26) by a cylindrical annular rear sleeve (50) mounted in the rear part (26, 56) and sealingly fixed therein by bonding or welding, in particular ultrasonic welding. The invention is characterised in that the intermediate element (91) is a tubular element forming joint-holder(s) (94, 96, 120) in the inner peripheral wall (93) of which is formed at least an inner joint housing (100, 106) open radially inwards towards the side wall (37) of the piston (20, 36).
