METHOD AND TOOLS MAKING A CURVED TUBE COMPOSITE MATERIAL

PURPOSE: A method for producing a curved compound tube is provided to easily separate a tool after the tube is hardened and to match outer size and shape of the tube. CONSTITUTION: Prepreg is windingly layered on the outer face of a male tool(1) made of silicone rubber. The male tool is placed in a groove(2c) of a lower plate(2b) of a female tool. An upper plate(2a) is placed to receive the upper half of the male tool in the groove. The closed female tool is sealed with a sealing tape. The female tool is heated at high temperature and pressure in an autoclave to harden the prepreg in the female tool. Then, a tube is formed. Thereafter, the female tool is opened to take out the male tool from the female tool. Finally, the male tool is separated from the hardened prepreg and a curved tube is obtained.
