The invention concerns a device for observing a field (10) comprising: two video cameras (18a, 18b) for capturing a common area of the field, an electronic device (20) for processing signals supplied by the cameras, and communication means (22) for providing an operator, on the basis of the signals supplied by the electronic processing device, data concerning the observed field. Said electronic device (20) comprises: monitoring means for selecting and identifying two points common to the images acquired by the cameras, means for determining from the data supplied by the monitoring means, a value representing the distance separating said two points in a three-dimensional space, and processing means for transforming said value into signals which are supplied to the communication means to enable them to provide the operator with the data concerning the observed field. |
