PURPOSE: A method and a device for initializing an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) state in the inflow of a static electricity are provided to restore or initialize the state of the LCD to a state before the inflow of the static electricity, if the screen of the LCD is not normally displayed due to the static electricity. CONSTITUTION: A state register(40) is read, to check the state of an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) driver(30). If an LCD unit(60) is in a busy or reset state, whether the busy or reset state is maintained since a predetermined time is confirmed, to check an error of the LCD unit(60) according to a confirmed result. If the LCD unit(60) has an error, the LCD driver(30) is initialized by a reset circuit(50) to read the state register(40) and check whether the LCD unit(60) is restored to a normal state. If the LCD driver(30) is initialized by the reset circuit(50) for a normal state, screen information right before the inflow of a static electricity stored in a memory(20) is read and delivered to the LCD driver(30), to display the screen on the LCD unit(60).
