A method of controlling access to web pages by a parent or supervisor. In a parent/supervisor mode, the browser application (315) displays a parent/supervisor GUI (610), receive commands (615), adds or deletes authorized URL (620), generates check sums and pixel signatures (625) and communicates with web site authorization server (630). In a child/user operation mode, only previously authorized web pages are accessible. The browser application (315) later compares pixel signatures and check sum values to determine if any of the data in the authorized web pages has been changed.
