Methods for the secure identification of the owner (10) of a portable device (20) by a service provider (30), wherein the portable device (20) may be in communication with the service provider (30) over a voice line such as a telephone line or the like, and the portable device (20) does not require a personal computer. Furthermore, the methods provide for one-way, non-repudiable, non-trackable identification of the owner (10) of a portable device (20), and for the arbitration of a disputed transaction between the owner (10) of a portable device (20) and a service provider (30). |
