The chip removal and replacement system (10) is designed for safely and easily removing or reattaching components from a printed circuit board. The system includes an automatic suction system for lifting (50) a component which has been removed. A nozzle connection and replacement mechanism (26) is provided for interchanging nozzles. The system is also provided with an improved circuit board holder (12), a circuit board auxiliary preheater (16), and a simplified control system (14) with one touch removal and replacement.
