The travel recorder has a mechanism for the clock time dependent drive of a chart disc serving as a recording carrier. Facilities are provided for guiding and centering the chart disc mounting with inaccuracies between the clock time indication and the position of the time scale printed on the chart disc. The servomotor (37) has a pinion (48) fixed on its shaft (38) engaging directly at a gear (23) of the mechanism. The gear (25) works in conjunction with a light barrier (36) to form a pulse transmitter (25,35,36). An equal toothed gear (30) as a signal transmitter (30,33,34) engages with the chart disc reception (14) and provided with a slit (33), and in addition a light barrier (34) is assigned to the gear (30). A stepper motor (15) drives the mechanism.
