A non-aqueous electrolyte secondary cell having an excellent capacity maintaining rate in charging/discharging cycles. The charging/discharging cycle characteristics are improved, and the initial charging capacity is excellent. The cell includes a negative plate, a positive plate, and a non-aqueous electrolyte. The negative plate contains an alloy containing Si, a first element, and a second element. The first element is at least one selected from a group of the Group 2 elements except Mg, the transition elements, the Group 12 elements, the Group 13 elements except B, and the Group 14 elements except Si in the periodic table. The second element is at least one of B and Mg.
