A power drive apparatus having therein a detachable filter which can be easily fitted/detached with a simple wiring work. The power drive apparatus comprises a main circuit board (2) on one of the sides of which an input terminal block (3) for power supply connection is mounted, a power module (18) mounted on the other side of the main circuit board and having a power rectifying part and a power inverting part adapted for converting and outputting electric power supplied through the input terminal block, a heat dissipating plate (4) provided on the opposite face of the power module to the face facing to the main circuit board, and a filter module (19) connected between the input terminal block and the input part of the power rectifier and detachably fitted in a recess formed in the heat dissipating plate.
