The tie-clip (10) consists of a decorative arm (12a,14a) and a sprung arm (12c,14c) gripping over the tie. Two U-shaped rails (12,14) are spaced apart beside each other in a lengthwise direction. The two rails are joined by a first (16) and second (18) transverse arm at two points spaced apart longitudinally. A slot between the two rails takes an insert. The slot at the point where the insert is clamped is elastically widened to be wider than the non-expanded part of the slot.
