A fire-resistant protection glass comprising at least two laminated panes of glass between which a transparent hydrated alkaline polysilicate layer is arranged. The hydrated alkaline polysilicate layer does not contain any organic antifreeze agents. This results in increased resistance of the intermediate layer to the effects of UV radiation and increased rigidity of the intermediate layer material in addition to good adhesion properties of the panes of glass with regard to the intermediate layer in the case of fire.
