The invention relates to a cleaning element, especially for cleaning teeth, which comprises a flexible, thread-like endless support on which radially projecting structured elements are applied at least in areas. In order to guarantee a reliable, however, gentle cleaning of tooth surfaces, the structured elements are made of an elastomeric plastic which is preferably sprayed onto the endless support. A multitude of interspaced support bodies made of the elastomeric plastic can be arranged on the endless support. Said support bodies support the structured elements which are situated on the out er surface thereof and which can be formed by radially projecting naps, bristle s or ribs.
