The axle housing contains a transmission, a pair of axle shafts, and lubricating oil (4). A deflector unit (5) is fastened to the housing and positioned, so that the lubricating oil is deflected outwards in transverse direction to the axle shafts. The transmission contains a differential unit with hollow gear (2), to circulate the lubricating oil when turning, and the gear is located near the deflector unit. The unit is formed by an inward facing V-shaped recess in the housing, or in a cover plate (3) for the housing.
