The motor has a rotor (2) with 2n rotor teeth with an arc angle X, a stator (1) with 2m stator teeth with a different arc angle Y and m pairs of stimulation coils (C1-C6). Each pair of stimulation coils is arranged around stator teeth mutually offset by 180 degrees. The motor has at least five phases and the arc angles fulfill the relationships X,Y /- 360 deg /(n x q) and X + Y = 180 deg /n - alpha deg , where q is the number of phases and alpha deg is the counter torque limit angle, which is greater than zero. An Independent claim is also included for a method of driving the motor.
