PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long life and low cost image recorder that generates less vibration and noise even when using a high speed scanner motor. SOLUTION: A value of a print starting page number P0 is set to a predetermined page number k (step 202). The number P1 of pages in print data which is received as a print request from a PC (step 204) is counted (step 206). When the number P1 is lower than the page number P0 ('No' in step 208), it is judged that the total page number of the print data requested for printing does not reach the predetermined page number k, then the print data is stored in a print data memory section (step 210). A value obtained by subtracting the page number P1 from the previous print starting page number P0 is stored as an updated print starting page number P0 (step 212) and the next print request is expected. When the page number P1 is not less than the print starting page number P0 ('Yes' in step 208), a scanner motor rotates and the printing is performed. |
