SHIFT REGISTER, LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE USING THE SHIFT REGISTER AND BIAS VOLTAGE GENERATING CIRCUIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption of a liquid crystal display device using thin film transistors. SOLUTION: This shift register used for a liquid crystal display device has a signal level converting circuit 41 to convert input signals having low signal amplitudes into output signals having high signal amplitudes in each stage of the shift register. By this constitution, clock signals having low signal amplitudes of approximately 5 volts and reversed block signals are directly given to the shift register. Thus, a buffer circuit is eliminated, signal amplitudes are made small resulting in the reduction of power consumption and a low power consumption liquid crystal display device is realized.
