PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress discharge of a battery caused by preheating, in the case of a heater control device for an air/fuel sensor having the preheating function of heating the air/fuel sensor prior to the start of an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: When unlocking operation of a door is detected, preheating is permitted by setting up a flag F1 at '1'. Even when the flag F1 is at '1' (step 150), a judgement is made that starting is not intended in the case that an engine hood is open (step 152), in the case that a fuel lid is open (step 156), in the case that vehicle speed exceeds a fixed value 0 (step 158), or in the case that a fixed amount of time has passed with the door opened (step 160), and the preheating is suspended by resetting the flag F1 at '1' (step 154). |
