PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cover the outer peripheral surface of a tubular article such as a fluorescent lamp or the like with an ultraviolet absorbing film or the like simply without generating wrinkles or the like. SOLUTION: A slit is provided to the outer peripheral surface of a resin tube 10 containing an ultraviolet absorber or the like in parallel to the longitudinal direction of the tube and the tube is spread from the portion of the slit to be developed to a planar state to be wound spirally centering around the axis L crossing the slit at a right angle so that the inner peripheral surface 13 of the covering material 10 becomes an outer peripheral surface. Next, the spirally wound covering material 10 is brought into contact with the outer peripheral surface 21 of a straight fluorescent lamp 20 in the vicinity of one end portion thereof so that the center axis L thereof crosses the longitudinal direction of the outer peripheral surface 21 of the straight fluorescent lamp 20 at a right angle to release the wound state of the covering material in the direction reverse to the spiral winding direction to cover the outer peripheral surface 21 of the straight fluorescent lamp 20 with the covering material 10. |
