PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a perfect suspension assembly easily integrated with a vehicle and capable of sufficiently controlling the specifying of elasticity and impact absorption. SOLUTION: This suspension assembly for an automobile has a tire 1 mounted on a rim. The assembly has a wheel carrier 3 and a guide member 6 for guiding the wheel carrier 3 to relative translation motion. The wheel carrier is mounted on the guide member by a bar 4 and slid in the guide member 6 by using a roller rotated on a guide track arranged in the bar 4. The assembly unit has a spiral spring 80 operated between the bar of the wheel carrier 3 and the guide member 6 of an electric mechanical device 87, and the electric mechanical device 87 can be operated for controlling movement of suspension displacement.
