PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coating tool of a cemented carbide for a coater which eliminates the unevenness of bond phase distribution, improves strength, hardness, toughness, abrasion resistance, lubricity, and corrosion resistance, increases the roughness of the surface of a coat formed on a substrate, minimizes a defect of stripes generated on the coat surface, and attains a long life. SOLUTION: The coating tip part 1 of a coating tool is made of a cemented carbide, which contains 2-16 wt.% of a bond phase containing cobalt as a main component, and the rest of a hard phase containing tungsten carbide as a main component and has Rockwell hardness A scale (HRA) of 90.0-94.0. When the hardness of a cemented carbide is shown by X (HRA) and the coercive force is given by Y (oersted), the coercive force meets formula: 60X-5100>=Y>=50X-4320.
