PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication terminal where an operating state of its function can be confirmed by displaying an item requiring to operate a function while replacing its priority even when the priority of the item is low regardless of the setting of the priority over display contents because the area of a display section is too small. SOLUTION: This invention relates to the communication terminal where a space for its display section is small and items able to be displayed at one time are limited to two lines or so because a key entry section with many one-touch dial keys or the like is placed on its operating panel. The priority of the display is set in the order of steps S3, S5, S7, and S9. When an original is set to the communication terminal in the case of memory transmission, contents in the step S7 are displayed for 2 seconds even during communication or printing. Furthermore, in the case of scanner transmission, contents of a received scanner command in the step S8 are displayed for 2 seconds even dying communication.
