DATA COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a data communication system capable of simultaneously executing both of data communication processing and the other application operation processing while securing the processing throughput of both the processing. SOLUTION: Two kinds of communication processing passes are formed in a host computer 10. The 1st communication processing pass executes lower and upper layer protocol processing on an NIC 50. The 2nd communication processing pass executes the lower layer protocol processing on the NIC 50 and executes the upper layer protocol processing in the host computer 10. The lower layer protocol is shared by both the 1st and 2nd passes and a multiplication/separation part for multiplexing/separating respective passes is formed between the lower and upper layer protocols. Since the 1st communication processing pass is allocated to communication processing of a high speed and a long time, host CPU resources to be required for communication processing can be reduced. The processing of an existing layer protocol not packaged on the NIC 50 can be utilized also for the host computer 10.
