PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a density change even when a heat developable material preserved in the form of finished goods is processed by using paper with at least one laminated surface as at least part of a packaging body for the heat developable material. SOLUTION: When a heat developable material with at least one image recording layer containing an organic silver salt and a binder on the substrate is preserved in such a way that at least part of the heat developable material is kept in contact with a packaging body, paper with at least one laminated surface is used as at least part of the packaging body and the surface of the image recording layer is brought into contact with the laminated surface of the paper. The image recording layer of the heat developable material preferably contains a reducing agent for the silver ion of the organic silver salt. The image recording layer, in particular a photosensitive layer preferably contains a polymer capable of aqueous coating using a coating solution in which 30 wt.% of the solvent is water and having <=2 wt.% equilibrium water content at 25 deg.C and 60% RH as the principal binder.
