PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide aluminosilica composite particles and a method for the production of the particles by which ion exchange of zeolite with metal ions and formation of the coating of an amorphous silicic acid or silicate are simultaneously performed so that coated aluminosilica particles are produced in a small number of processes and by easy operation, that wear property and scratching property are improved compared to conventional aluminosilica particles, that the refractive index can be controlled and that the antiblocking property is improved. SOLUTION: A zeolite slurry containing a dissolved alkali silicate and having a regular particle structure is prepared, to which a water-soluble salt of a metal except for alkali metals is added. Then particles consisting of zeolite cores subjected to ion exchange with the added metal and the shells of amorphous silicic acid or silicate are formed. The coated particles are separated and then dried or calcined.
