PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the quality of an image and easily control absorption current. SOLUTION: This device is provided with an absorption roller 83 disposed so as to be freely rotatable, a rotating member disposed face to face to the absorption roller 83 so as to be freely rotatable, a carrying belt 19 formed out of conductive material, carrying a recording medium 37 while running a space between the absorption roller 83 and the rotation member, and with a voltage applying means applying absorption voltage at least to one out of the absorption roller 83 and the rotating member. The absorption roller 83 is provided with small diameter parts small in diameter at both the peripheral portions of the roller. In this case, when an image is recorded onto the recording medium 37 the width of which is smaller than the length of the absorption roller 83, and both the peripheral portions of the absorption roller 83 are prevented from being directly brought into contact with the carrying belt 19 without going through the intermediary of the recording medium 37.
