PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost by a simple structure, and drastically reduce the labor of a worker, and greatly improve the work efficiency by loading a small power section on a hand held character type printing device, and performing a printing motion to an article to be printed by a single procedure using the power of the small power section. SOLUTION: A motor 5 as a small power section is rotated, and a rack frame 3 and a printing stamp section 4 as a printing section are placed under a depressed state downward along a rail section 2 by a crank 6 which is connected to the shaft of the motor 5. At this time, by the engagement between a rack gear section 7 and a pinion gear 8, the pinion gear 8 rotates, and a movable ink pad 9 which is an ink filled section separates from the printing stamp section 4. Then, the printing stamp section 4 is placed under an open state in view of a printing surface 10, and the printing surface 10 comes into contact with an article to be printed, and a printing is performed by a single procedure. Also, in this printing device, the printing stamp section 4 is housed in a guide frame 1 on both side surfaces of which, the rail section 2 and an ink pad attaching hole 11 are provided.
