PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a bitmap capable of being displayed without increasing a bitmap storage means, and further, make a display enlargement ratio arbitrary. SOLUTION: This device comprises a storage means 11 for storing an original picture, and a projecting means 12 for receiving a picture data corresponding to the original picture and converting the picture data into plural bitmap data for projection. Necessary plural bitmap data can be generated from each single original picture. The original picture can be replaced with the bitmap data. The projection conversion by the projecting means 12 is a combination of such four kinds of conversions as a p-fold conversion in the x direction, a (1/q)-fold conversion in the x direction, a p-fold conversion in the y direction, and a (1/q)-fold conversion in the y direction.
