<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly and reliably treat a large amount of a gas, make a treatment apparatus simple in constitution and easy to handled, and capable of safely regenerating it for use for a long duration and carrying out gas treatment at low cost. SOLUTION: A fire retardant is deposited on a honeycomb-like activated carbon 4 having a large number of through holes in the back and forth direction and the honeycomb-like activated carbon 4 is housed in an outer casing 2. An organic substance-containing gas is passed through the outer casing 2 to adsorb the organic substance of the gas on the honeycomb-like activated carbon 4. Then, the honeycomb-like activated carbon 4 is heated to desorb the adsorbed organic substance.</p> |
