PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pinch roller elevation and rotation mechanism capable of performing quick loading and miniaturizing a device. SOLUTION: This mechanism is provided with a rotary member 21 rotated following the rotation of a driving force transmission gear 20, an elevation and rotary member 23 supported on the rotary member 21 so as to be freely elevated and rotated, a pinch roller supporting member 24 supporting a pinch roller 25, lifted integrally with the member 23 and freely rotatably supported on the member 23, a pinch roller elevating cam means 26 for elevating the member 23 following the rotation of the member 21, an elevation guiding means 27 for guiding the elevation of the member 23 by the pinch roller elevation cam means 26 and guiding a lowering operation and a rotational operation to a clamping position side in the latte half process of the lowering operation, and a pinch roller clamping cam means 29 engaged only in the lowering rotating position of the member 23 and rotating the member 23 to the clamping position side by the rotation of the driving force transmission gear 20.
