PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooking appliance having good handling operability capable of effectively utilizing a space above a top plate in the case of using in association with a systematized kitchen and god safety, good appearance. SOLUTION: The cooking appliance for exhausting exhaust gas of a concealing type cooker 4 such as a grill, a microwave oven or the like from a position higher than a top plate 8 comprises a cooking stove 3 having a plurality of burners 6, a grate 7 surrounding the burners 6, and a top plate 5 for placing the grate 7 to form a flat surface 5a except a grate placing part 5. When an upper surface of the grate 7 and the flat surface of the top plate are disposed substantially in plane, a pan can be easily moved. The surface 5a of the plate is provided with a protrusion and recess part.
