PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent gas generation in a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery of a type to dope lithium into a negative electrode carrier of carbon material in the battery. SOLUTION: In this nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, a negative electrode carrier 6 containing a carbon material capable of storing and releasing lithium and a negative electrode donor 7 containing lithium are provided to contact, and lithium is doped into the negative electrode carrier. In this case, the negative electrode donor which was conventionally metal lithium itself is made from an alloy of lithium and one or more than two kinds of metal elements selected from Al, In, Ag, Sn, Ga and Bi the gas is prevented from being generated, consequently, the internal resistance is reduced, and the heavy load discharge characteristic is improved. The preferable total concentration of the metals elements except for lithium element in the alloy is 0.05 to 5 wt.%. |
