PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for attaining a relative movement between a thread guide and a spinning pot in a simple method. SOLUTION: In a centrifugal spinning machine installed with at least one spinning unit having a spinning pot 14 to be rotated, a thread guide 18 capable of feeding a roving 26' and a drive device 38 for generating a relative movement in the axial direction between the thread guide 18 and the spinning pot 14, and enabled to descend the thread out of the thread guide 18 as a spinning cake along the internal peripheral wall of the spinning pot 14, the thread 26 guided in the thread guide 18 is specifically brought to run passing the axis of rotation of the rotor 46 of the drive device 38.
