PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent leak of a hollow fiber membrane by solving the problem of adhesion curing of the hollow fiber membrane to a housing by a method wherein in a hollow fiber membrane module which is formed by fixing a plurality of hollow fiber membranes in the housing with a potting material, a restricting means for restricting integrally respective hollow fiber membranes is provided in the potting material. SOLUTION: In a hollow fiber membrane module 5A, a hollow fiber membrane sheet 6 comprising a hollow fiber membrane 1 is converged, a cylindrical hollow fiber bundle is formed, and the hollow fiber bundle is stored inside a cylindrical housing 2, and fixed by a potting material 3. In this case as a restricting means, a bandy restricting thread 4 wherein, for example, a plurality of restricting thread 4 a are disposed in an array is used, a part of its width direction is arranged inside the potting material 3, and the other part is arranged in the vicinity of the outside of the potting material 3.
