<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong life of a motor transporting a record medium and also to shorten the time to execute the instruction to transport the record medium. SOLUTION: By this information recording/reproducing device, a cassette library 1 is constituted in such a manner that a drive console 1D having drive devices 13 and a cassette console 1C having housing racks 15 are changeably connected to a basic console 1B, and also the cassettes K are transported by a cassette transportation device 16 between the drive devices 13 and the cassette housing racks 15. By a library controller 2 connected to the cassette library 1, at this time, the power supplying state to this motor and the brake releasing state are maintained during the specified time after the finish of the transportation with respect to the motor provided with the brake, which is used for the transportation of the cassette K by the cassette transportation device 16.</p> |
