PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a working tool for a dry working gear having an excellent abrasion resistance and capable of a high speed cutting. SOLUTION: A coat 10 consists of a substrate layer 11 of a TiN coat having a high adhesion strength, an upper layer 12 of a TiAlN having a high hardness and an excellent oxidation resistance, and an intermediate layer 13 provided between the substrate layer 11 and the upper layer 12 for improving an adhesive strength between the substrate layer 11 and the upper layer 12 by alternately stacking a TiN coat layer 14 and a TiAlN coat layer 15. The coat 10 is formed on a cutting edge surface of a hob made from a high speed steel, thus providing a dry working gear having an excellent abrasion resistance and capable of a high speed cutting.
