PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supervisory system using a high sensitivity television camera giving a video image with less noise to an image processing unit by automatically revising a sensitivity adjustment method corresponding to the degree of a change in the video image. SOLUTION: A television camera 1 for a supervisory system where the sensitivity is set by means of gain or storage control is provided with a storage section 3 that converts input light into an electric signal and stores the signal, an amplifier section 4 that amplifies the electric signal received from the amplifier section, a memory section 5 that temporarily stores a video signal received from the amplifier section, and a control section 6 that controls the above operations, an image processing unit 2 receives a video signal output of the memory section 5 and outputs a control signal to the control section 6 corresponding to the state of the video signal input. The control section 6 controls the stage section 3, the amplifier section 4 and the memory section 5 on the basis of the output signal from the amplifier section 4 and the control signal from the image processing unit 2 to switch over the sensitivity of the television camera and the sensitivity adjustment method.
