PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep the inter-plate precision between artwork films for plate making, and the skew at high levels by providing a heat-sensitive recording layer containing an electron donating color-developing compound, an electron receiving compound, and a binder resin, on a roll-form supporting body, and at the same time, setting the thickness deflection in the width direction of a heat-sensitive recording medium in a specified range. SOLUTION: A roll-form heat-sensitive recording medium is prepared by providing a heat- sensitive recording layer wherein the major components are an electron donating color- developing compound, an electron receiving compound, and a binder resin, on a roll-form supporting body, and at the same time, the thickness deflection (R) in the width direction of the heat-sensitive recording medium is set at 3 μm or lower. In addition, the film thickness lateral difference (inclination) in the width direction of the roll-form heat-sensitive recording medium is preferably set at 0.7 μm or lower. Also, the supporting body is preferably made a transparent supporting body, and also, on the heat-sensitive recording layer, an over layer having approx. the same refractive index as the heat-sensitive recording layer is preferably laminated. As a concrete example of the supporting body for the heat-sensitive recording medium, a plastic film or the like can be counted, and one having a refractive index at a normal temperature of 1.45-1.65 is preferably used. |
