PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fan of simple construction capable of high responsiveness overcurrent protection. SOLUTION: Power, supplied from an AC power source 204 to a power supply controller 300, is supplied to a motor 203 by the operation of a semiconductor switch inside the supply controller 300, and blades 201 are rotated. If an overcurrent flows in the motor 203 from the interference with a foreign matter X in the blades 201, etc., the supply controller 300 generates a reference voltage having a voltage characteristics equivalent to that of the inter-terminal voltage of the semiconductor switch which is connected to a motor load by a reference voltage generating means formed inside. A detecting means and a control means also formed inside the supply controller 300 detect the difference between a reference voltage and the inter-terminal voltage of the semiconductor switch, control the semiconductor switch according to the difference, and safely protect the motor 203. |
