PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector which is capable of preventing the occurrence of local bending at an optical fiber from an optical cord leading part up to an optical connector ferrule even if the advanceable and retreatable optical connector ferrule is pushed backward in a butt connection direction and being assembled regardless of the kinds of optical cords. SOLUTION: This optical connector 20 internally has an extra length housing part 3 which curves and houses the extra length 13c generated by pushing of the optical connector ferrule 3 backward in the butt connection direction by assuring the more than regulated curving radius thereof at the optical fiber 13b drawn out of the leading part 13a at the front end of the optical cord 13 to the optical connector ferrule 3.
