PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liquid detergent composition which is easily soluble even in low-temperature water and has a high detergency by incorporating at least one terminal-blocked nonionic surfactant, an alkanolamine, and a hydrophilic organic compound having at least two hydroxyl groups into the same. SOLUTION: This composition contains 15-60 wt.% at least one surfactant selected from among terminal-blocked nonionic surfactants represented by formulas I and II, 1-25 wt.% alkanoloamine represented by formula II (e.g. diethanolamine), and 0.1-30 wt.% hydrophilic organic compound having at least two hydroxyl groups (e.g. ethylene glycol). In the formulas, R1 and R8 are each a 6-22C hydrocarbon group; R2 and R4 are each 1-20C alkyl or alkenyl; R5 is 1-4C hydroxyalkyl; R6 and R7 are each H, 1-4C hydroxyalkyl or the like; AO is 3-8C oxyalkylene; EO is oxyethylene (the distribution of number of moles of EO added satisfies the degree of narrowness of formula IV); Yi is an ethylene oxide adduct; 0<=m<=15; 0<n<=40 provided m+n is 2-50; 0<s<=15; and 0<t<=40 provided s+t is 2-50.
