PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arithmetic device calculating a Hamming distance by adding the small number of hardware, and reducing a processing step in a DSP(digital signal processor). SOLUTION: The exclusive OR of two digital words is generated by a logical arithmetic block 11, and the exclusive OR results are added by using a carry save adder 2 constituted of a 4-2 compressor and a full adder so that four compressed data in several bit width can be obtained. Those four data are added by a final adder 5 in two stages so that the Hamming distance of the two digital words can be obtained. |
