PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To judge a minimum-cost route (connection route) by allowing a transcoding controller to select and array modules in the order optimizing a converting process. SOLUTION: To the transcoding controller 410, streaming conversion modules A 420, B 430, and C 440 and a data buffer 450 are connected. The transcoding controller 410 judges the source and destination format of a data stream to be converted. The controller 410 judges the source format from the data stream. The controller 410 also judges module conversion types for the streaming conversion modules A 420, B 430, and C 440, determines the optimum array of the streaming conversion modules A 420, B 430, and C 440 according to those module conversion types, and converts the source format to the destination format, thereby selecting an optimum route. |
