PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excitation light for exciting a fluorescent material and an illuminating light capable of providing an image of high contrast without providing independent light sources by arranging a filter containing a fluorescent material emitting a light of visual area other than blue between a light source and a sample. SOLUTION: A gel is placed on a sample stage 10 as a sample 11, and a filter wheel 20 is rotated and stopped in a position where a blue transmission filter is matched to a light source 30. A black box 26 is laid in light shielding state, and the blue LED 31 of the light source 30 is lighted to emit blue LED light L. The component of infrared band of the blue LED light L is cut by the infrared ray reflecting coating of the filter, the reflection of the blue component is prevented by the blue AR coating, and blue LED light L' of narrow blue wavelength band is consequently transmitted. The blue LED light L' irradiates the sample 11 to excite the fluorescent material for labeling a specified biochemical substance distributed in the sample 11, so that a phosphor M is emitted. The phosphor M is transmitted by a LED light cut filter 42 through a lens 41, and imaged on the light receiving surface of a CCD 50.
