PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching power supply circuit, in which a semiconductor element of low current capacity can be employed for constituting a switch element circuit turning a pulse generator on/off. SOLUTION: An amplifier circuit 4 amplifies a pulse generated from a pulse generator 3. A transformer output circuit 6 is driven with a pulse from the amplifier circuit 4, to supply the pulse generator 3 and the amplifier circuit 4 with a power supply voltage. A switch element circuit 5 is provided between voltage lines L2, L3 connecting the pulse generator 3 and the amplifier circuit 4, and a diode D5 is connected in parallel with the switch element circuit 5.
