PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal generating circuit in which the frequency of output signal can be varied easily. SOLUTION: A signal generating circuit comprises a general purpose switching signal output integrated circuit 2 for charging/discharging a capacitor C1, connected with a capacitor connection terminal 6 with a current corresponding to that flowing through a resistor R1 which is connected with a resistor connection terminal 5 and outputting a switching signal having frequency dependent on the time to be elapsed before the voltage of the capacitor C1 reaches a specified level, a variable voltage source 9 for varying the frequency of the switching signal by varying the current flowing through the resistor R1 connected with the resistor connection terminal 5, and a signal source 10.
