A thin film EL panel includes: an EL element substrate having a thin film EL element with a plurality of pixels; a color filter substrate having a color filter and being disposed opposite to the EL element substrate through a gap; and a seal resin for sealing the gap formed on the periphery of the display region. A spacer having a particle size of 15 to 120 mu m is interposed in the gap between the EL element and the color filter substrate.
