PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system mounted on vehicle using methanol as fuel and automobiles using the system. SOLUTION: The fuel cell mounted on vehicle is constituted so that methanol is decomposed in a methanol decomposing equipment 5, the decomposed gas is separated into wetted hydrogen and a carbon monoxide enriched non- permeable gas with a Pd membrane, the non-permeable gas after the shift reaction with water is separated into wetted hydrogen and carbon dioxide with the Pd membrane 7, the wetted hydrogen after joined is supplied to the anode 13 side of the fuel cell 11, the non-reacted quantity of the air supplied to the cathode 13 side of the fuel cell, the non-reacted quantity of hydrogen supplied to the anode 12 side and the non-permeated gas are supplied to the methanol decomposing equipment to be used as a heat source of the heating part of the methanol decomposing equipment and the waste gas from the heating part is used as the heat source for the gasification of methanol and water. |
